2016 has been a roller coaster ride for me, my marriage is falling apart however I received HUGE blessing for my blogging career. I guess you can’t have everything on one plate. Regardless of how crazy my life is now I am still very thankful to GOD that I am still sane, still fighting and as long as I have my child with me, I know I can do everything and anything to make my life as great as I always wanted to be.
New Year’s Eve has been an ordinary day for me for 3 years now, but I still have to show my kid that we need to celebrate it. We got lucky we had an opportunity to stay in Herald Suites in Makati. Located at Chino Roces, just a few steps away from Makati Square.
Getting to the hotel from Manila Airport:
– Take ordinary cab/ UBER / Grab
– Cheaper commute – ride any jeepney going to Baclaran, drop off to Baclaran and ride another jeepney going to MRT Taft. Take MRT and drop off to Magallanes MRT station. Ride jeepney going to Chino Roces/Don Bosco/Makati Square.
– From Magallanes MRT Station, it’s about 5mins away (no traffic).
Jeepney Fare: 7PHP / .14USD
MRT Fare: 15PHP / .30 USD
Before going to the hotel, I called them first and asked if they have ample parking space because I am planning to bring my car since I am going with my kid and niece. Unfortunately, front desk says they have limited parking and it’s first come, first serve basis but I can park the car in front of the hotel which I don’t like so we ended up commuting and taking UBER instead. Good thing our UBER fare is only 270 PHP.
The hotel lobby is an old hotel vibe which it doesn’t bother me and I loved it actually. I have been to numerous hotels in the metro and all over the PH and even abroad but it’s rare now you see a hotel that preserved their old and original design.
My kid and I enjoyed the hotel lobby and we really had to take our time and take tons of photos here, lol. With this human-sized Santa Clause and their huge Christmas Tree.
Also in their room, you will still feel the old hotel looking, from their beds, rustic wood flooring, and furniture as well. Good thing the bathroom is renovated though it’s small but the tiles are off white and somehow modern looking and our room has a LED tv, small personal fridge, cabinet, coffee and tea maker, mini bar and our room has 2 single bed and the room itself is spacious.
It is our first time to celebrate our New Year’s Eve in a hotel and we all enjoyed it as we’re able to watch the fireworks at the roof top.
The hotel offers free midnight meal for all staff and hotel guests. They served lasagna (which is so good and so cheesy!), sandwiches, fruit punch, and fruit salad.
The following morning we all enjoyed swimming in their pool at the rooftop. It’s a small pool but as long as my kid enjoys it’s all good!
Room price starts from 2,500 PHP to 4,500 PHP / 51 USD to 92 USD with buffet breakfast for two, free use of swimming pool. They have Standard twin, queen, King room and Deluxe room.
