If you are in a search of affordable hotel with free breakfast and near to the Manila Airport – mind as well trying Gran Prix Econotel Pasay. Strategically located at the Victory Bus Station along EDSA Pasay Manila. Room rates starts from 1,000 to 2,000 PHP / 20 USD to 40 USD. Standard room is good for 2 pax and they have a family room that is good for 3 to 4 pax all have a free breakfast at their in-house restaurant.
Econotel (Economy Hotel/Affordable Hotel)
Getting to the hotel from Manila Airport:
– From Manila Airport via public transportation, ride a jeepney that goes to MRT Taft, the drop-off to MRT Taft station and rides another jeepney going to LRT Buendia Station. or Mantrade. Just tell the jeepney driver to drop you off to the nearest foot bridge because you have to cross the street.
– Take an UBER or Grab taxi if you have luggage with you and you want a hassle-free commute.
Jeepney fare is 7 PHP / .14 USD
Family room has 2 double beds, with en-suite bathroom and LED tv. The room is really small (please don’t expect too much because of this an Econotel). If your room is facing the city, expect noises from the bus and jeepney honks and other noises.
But if you are on a tight budget and you just needed a place to sleep and take a shower then this Econotel is a good choice. All room provides bath towel, other toiletries like toothbrush, bath soap and shampoo and bathroom tissue.
If you are a commuter going up north of Luzon like Baguio, Cagayan, Ilocos, and you have to sleep before you bus ride then this economy hotel is really a good choice. For just 1,000 PHP you have a place to sleep and take a really good hot shower.
I actually don’t mind sleeping in a cheap hotel especially if I just need a place to sleep for few hours and shower and off to my journey. As long as it has a hot/cold shower and an en-suite bathroom it’s good! But if I’m traveling with my precious kid, I might check on other hotels nearby with cleaner room and more spacious room.
